Lan Chi is a retail supermarket chain in Hanoi, concentrated mainly in the city's outer districts. Today Lan Chi is the largest and most professional distribution network in Northern Vietnam and a strategic partner of world-famous companies such as Unilever, Calofic and Dutch Lady. Lan Chi also supplies 700 dealers across neighbouring districts and provinces. With more than 300 staff and over 40 trucks, Lan Chi confidently runs long-term, sustainable strategies with leading brands both at home and abroad.

The challenge
COVID-19 shifted consumer habits from in-store shopping to online. The post-pandemic market runs on a blend of traditional retail and online sales and marketing. Moving onto online channels became essential for Lan Chi not to be left behind by competitors in the retail industry.

The solution
To run online sales, however, Lan Chi needed a professional e-commerce platform that customers could reach easily, along with workflows for online order management, marketing, sales and customer data. Innocom delivered a complete package — the website plus operations management on ABMS — so the client could get the most out of their online sales channel.

Once the supermarket admin confirms an order, the system automatically assigns a shopper (who picks the goods in store) and a shipper. The flow is:
1. The system messages the shopper with the picking list for that order.
2. The shopper picks the goods in store and taps “Picking completed”.
3. The system forwards the picked order to the shipper.
The whole journey from the customer's order to the shipper is automated and easy to manage and route through ABMS. Every action by the people involved (shopper, shipper) is recorded automatically and updates the order status: new – confirmed – preparing – handed to shipper – paid – in transit – delivered – cancelled.
